Our Hope

USAFV is excited to be online. We wanted to create a way to reach out to those in rural communities who either do not have shelters or resources readily available or aren't interested in making their struggle with abuse public. Our hope is that through this blog we can open up dialogue, provide information, answer questions and inspire, empower and uplift women as far as we can reach. With a wealth of positive and enlightening information coming from both USAFV and bloggers themselves. Our hope is that this will be a place where women can speak freely, openly and from their hearts about the abusive lives they have been in,are presently in or hope never to be in.Whatever it may be,we would like this to be a place where sharing advice, stories and encouragement will take place between friends who follow our blog. This site is for those in small villages and towns who are either afraid to come forward or are not yet ready. For all women who have been victims of sexual or domestic abuse or are secondary survivors of abuse. This site is for any women who has ideas of how to prevent abuse in any or all forms. In addition, for men who support women and are for changing warped "masculinity" ideals or have supportive opinions and solutions for change. We understand that rural Alaska makes it difficult for maintaining privacy and wanting to remain anonymous with such personal matters. We respect privacy requests and think this is a great option for these communities and individuals.Through this blog you can be as open or as anonymous as you like.Use your real name or make up a user-name that inspires you to speak out, until you are ready to put a face to your name!Let's get started and Speak freely!!! ** We do however ask this not to be a male bashing blog but one of stories and feedback, ideas and resolutions encouragement, healing and change.
